5 Must have gadgets for HTC Desire(andriod o/s)

If you haven’t got an HTC Desire, yet… get one. Easily the best phone on the market at the moment. But now that you have your most awesomeness of phones, what apps should you get??

Here a quick list of some of the most usefull(and well made) apps that I have got running on my Desire so far, as I’m a cheap bastard all these apps are also free.

1. HandCent
Although default sms client that comes installed on the desire works and does conversations, it doesn’t do it so well. There are a few apps available that do this but having tried a few handcent is by far the best overall, highly configurable, easy to use, custom colour’s, custom font’s and did I mention FREE. Handcent handle sms and mms.

2. Ebuddy
Ebuddy is a chat client for Andriod. Ebuddy will handle msn, yahoo, AIM, ICQ, google and facebook buddies all in the one app. Has a great easy to use interface.

3.Twitter
There are hundreds of twitter apps siting in Market, most of them are just rubbish especially when Twitter has released their own Android app. This app is not a third party tweet client, this one is made by twitter and as such work great, fully integrated with everything on your phone, send twit pics directly from the share menu on the phone as you take the photo, linked to your contacts, have you location automatically added to your tweets(if you are that way inclined), location based tweet can also be shown directly in google maps. Why use some third rate third party app??

4. Advanced Task Killer

One thing that andriod doesn’t come with it a task manager, that’s where this program steps in. Advanced task killer is a free program which lets you see what programs are running and terminate any programs you don’t won’t running. It keeps a memory of previous setting so if you have program you never want to terminate you can untick them and they will stay untick everytime you run the program making it quick and easy to terminate a lot of programs quickly without switching off the stuff you use such as Messaging apps. The program also has some automation options allowing you to have programs turned off automatically.

5. Agenda Widget

Technically this isn’t an app, but a widget as it’s name suggest but is a must have. Although there are a few calendar apps/widget etc.. none of them show just a simple list of what you have scheduled for the day, as a old skool HTC winmo user this is a must have for me now, so this widget is a must have for anyone who uses their droid phone for work, or even if you just like to schedule you day. Hugely configurable widget, you can change how many lines are shown, the format of the lines, how much detail is shown, the style/theme the list goes on. Ties straight in with the HTC calendar programs and works great.
